Thursday Night Football Preview and Predictions

Thursday Night Football Preview and Predictions

Minnesota Vikings @ Los Angeles Rams

Kickoff: 8:20 P.M EST

Spread: LAR -7

Preview: The Rams and Jared Goff have started this season on fire and look to improve to 4-0 on the season. The Vikings, meanwhile, have had a disappointing start to the 2018 season with a 1-1-1 record after defeating the 49ers, tying the Packers, and then shockingly getting blown out at home to rookie Josh Allen and the Bills. The Bills looked so bad the first two weeks that cornerback Vontae Davis quit the team during halftime of their second game. The Vikings look to rebound against the current Super Bowl favorite LA Rams, who have a relatively easy start to the season outside of their week 3 matchup against the Chargers. Injuries are going to play a role in the outcome of this game with the Rams missing Aqib Talib and Marcus Peters being hobbled, and the Vikings are missing Everson Griffin, who the Vikings have concerns about his mental health, and Dalvin Cook remains a game time decision. With Cook ailing, Peters hobbled, and Talib out, look for the Vikings to try and air it out to Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs. A handful of targets might be in store for Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph, as QB Kirk Cousins is going to have to get rid of the ball in a hurry against the Rams intimidating defensive line. Remember the Rams gave up 180 yards in week 1 to Oakland TE Jared Cook. Watch for the Rams to get stud RB Todd Gurley involved in the passing game early and often.

Prediction: LA Rams 28 – Minnesota Vikings 24

College Football Matchup:

North Carolina Tar Heels @ Miami Hurricanes

Kickoff: 8:00 P.M EST

Spread: Miami -17.5

Preview: Is this the week that Miami coach Mark Richt finally makes the switch from QB Malik Rosier to QB N’Kosi Perry? While Mark Richt remains mum on the situation, I believe that N’Kosi Perry takes over the reins for the #16 Miami Hurricanes. The 1-2 Tar Heels are coming off their first win of the season against Pitt and get back seven players from suspension for selling their team-issued Jordan sneakers, but are severely overmatched against the Hurricanes.

Prediction: North Carolina 14 – Miami Hurricanes48
